Designer and Sign Maker
Joseph Diaz is an award winning graphic designer, sign maker and mural artist from Central Illinois. He was born and raised in the sign industry and is now part owner of the very same family owned business his father started in 1979, Diaz Sign Art. Today he is one of only eight CorelDRAW masters, an official international group of designers and artists that specialize in CorelDRAW. He teaches seminars, webinars and writes tutorials to help other Corel Draw users. He has also won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes in the 2015 CorelDRAW International Design Contest, 2nd place in the 2013 CorelDRAW International Design Contest, and was named the grand prize winner of the 2011 CorelDRAW International Design Contest.
Joe is also a longtime Walldog, a group of mural artists from around the world. His work with this group has helped him and his family win the Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award. He also recently led a mural project at the American Sign Museum for Letterheads 40. In addition to his work as a designer he also serves as an Executive Board Member for the Pontiac Illinois Area Chamber of Commerce.
In his free time Joe enjoys playing bass guitar in his band “Willie Makit and the Betty Donts” and also serves as a board member of the local theater group.
